Thank you for stopping by and taking an interest in my photography. There are so many ways I could describe myself in making my introduction, but I’ll try to keep it simple and relevant. I am an artist, a husband, a father and a global nomad. These four things relate directly to the focus of this website.
First, as an artist, I love creating beautiful and moving images with a camera. My Grandpa gave me a camera when I was in Junior High and it didn’t take long for me to fall in love with photography. The next year I bought a bigger camera and joined the yearbook staff at school. I spent as much time as I could taking pictures and developing them in the darkroom. I don’t do much darkroom work any more, but I still love the process of creating photographs – all the way from vision to the final image.
Marriage is something I firmly believe in. My own marriage is a great blessing, and at a time when marriage is widely denigrated, I view every wedding with hope and joy for the promise it holds. I didn’t set out to become a wedding photographer. I considered giving it a try, but I didn’t expect it to go anywhere. But then I shot a wedding on my own for the first time and I was hooked. The energy and excitement of the wedding day is intoxicating and I love being in the middle of it, capturing all the special moments of the event. If you would like a photographer who is excited about your wedding, give me a call.
As a father, I have an immense appreciation for family. I thoroughly enjoy capturing beautiful images of my own family. The collection of photos I have of my children is a real treasure. The memories associated with those images are powerful. I would be delighted to create lasting memories of your family also.
I am also a global nomad. Having spent my formative years in the Amazon basin in Peru, I still love to travel and experience new places and cultures. Of course, my love for travel fits beautifully with my love for photography. I have had the pleasure of traveling with my wife and children to the Philippines, Albania, Turkey, India, Peru and Kenya, and I look forward to seeing and photographing much more of the world in the years to come.
