Shawn and Liliana Family Portraits

A couple years ago I photographed Shawn and Liliana’s wedding, and a few weeks ago I had the privilege of photographing their newest family member – little Juliette. I had a great time hanging out with the family and capturing these images. Enjoy!

Santa Barbara Mission

I took my sister Shelley out for a brother-sister photo day. In all the years I have lived in California, I have only seen Santa Barbara from the freeway. So we headed up the coast to check out the area. After a stop in Ventura we ended up at the mission in Santa Barbara. After visiting, I have to say that everyone should spend a little time in Santa Barbara. We photographed the mission until the sun began to […]

Rose Hills Buddhist Columbarium

I took this shot from a fire road that my family often hikes on in the hills above Whittier off Turnbull Canyon.  We often hike here around Sunset on Sundays, and the view on a clear day is quite lovely.  The temple in the foreground is in Rose Hills Cemetary, and in the background you can see downtown Los Angeles. You can buy this image here.

James and Melony Family Portraits

I met James and Melony at Valle Vista Park in Chino Hills to take photos of their family for them. They are such a neat family and I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know them a little from behind the lens. The girls chased rabbits around the park and played with roly-polies, and they actually sat still for some photos too. Here are a few of the images I captured that day.

Oceanside Pier

I stopped by the city of Oceanside on my way home from San Diego yesterday just as the sun was setting.  With just a few minutes on the sand before the light disappeared, I grabbed this shot of the waves washing kelp across the sand in front of the pier.  I intentionally slowed down the shutter speed to let the motion of the waves blur in the foreground to give a sense of the movement that I saw before […]

Steve and Christina Family Portraits

A couple of years ago I had the pleasure of photographing this family to celebrate their daughter’s first birthday. Last week I got to spend an afternoon in the park with them again as we did the same for their second daughter’s first birthday. These little ones are precious, and it was a delight to capture their smiling faces.

Mark and Shelley Family Portrait

I have to say that we do not get down the beach nearly as often as we ought to given how close we live to the ocean.  But last month we got to spend an afternoon on the sand with my sister and her husband and daughter.  Since we were all there together I snagged a quick portrait of their family, and now I share it with you.

Portraits of Debbie

Debbie is a friend from church.  She needed some headshots for a performance she was involved in, so we met in Creek Park in La Mirada to take the shots.  Here are my favorites from the set.

Ben and Aimee

Ben and Aimee had a great little backyard wedding in Orange.  I have known Aimee’s parents for some time, and it was a real privilege to be able to shoot her wedding.  Ben is a great guy and a whole lot of fun.  They make a great couple, don’t they?
